Mountain Top Explorium is thrilled to share its 2024 Annual Report. It was an amazing year with so many highlights and most importantly we have almost doubled our impact with more students in after school, campers at day camp, and patrons visiting the Explorium Children’s Museum.Â
It was a time for deep reflection, strategic planning, and, most importantly, dreaming about the impact we can create. With the support of a special board committee, the Mission, Vision, and Values were re-energized, ensuring they truly reflect our purpose and solidifying the Explorium as a vital community resource – a place which nurtures connection between children and their world through exploration, creativity, and relationships.
A key highlight of 2024 was how program access was expanded through a dramatic increase in scholarship funding. Thanks to the generosity of our community, our fundraising efforts in 2024 allowed us to provide more scholarships for after school, school break, and day camp programming, directly addressing a crucial need within Summit County.Â
Key highlights from 2024 include:
Doubling Our Reach:Â After school programming was expanded into Upper Blue Elementary with continued programming at Breckenridge Elementary.
Increased Program Access:Â A sliding fee scale for all after-school and school break programs, was implemented, making them accessible for as little as $1 per day for families qualifying for free and reduced lunch. An average of 45% of our students benefited from this crucial support.
Igniting STEM:Â We hosted 19 engaging STEM Enrichment programs, fostering a love for science, technology, engineering, and math. This also includes a new program speciality for 10 preschool classes.
Explorium Children’s Museum Visits: Our Explorium membership doubled, and total patron visits increased over 30% from 2023.
Mountain Top for All: We provided 299 complimentary patron visits to the Explorium Children’s Museum through our Mountain Top for All program.
