School is starting but that doesn’t mean the fun has to! We’ve compiled a list of the events we are most excited about in Summit county over the next month so scroll down to keep the fun rolling into the school year!
37th Annual Great Rubber Duck Race (August 31, 2024)
Location: Blue River Plaza in downtown Breckenridge
Time: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
This event is a fundraiser by the Summit Foundation and over those 37 years has raised over $53 million for our community! In addition to the main rubber duck race there is also the Kids Duck Dash. Each rubber duck entry costs $5 and there are deals if you purchase multiple. This event really is fun for the whole family all for a good cause so don’t miss it!
49th Breckenridge Gathering at the Great Divide Art Festival (August 31-September 2, 2024)
Location: Colorado Mountain College, Breckenridge, CO
Time: Varies by day
This is the longest running art festival in Summit County and hosts artists that specialize across 13 different mediums. Admission is free and there is easy bus access from town!
Fall Fest in Frisco (September 6-7, 2024)
Location: Historic Park and Main Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue
Time: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Frisco’s Fall Fest is a must-visit for families. The event takes over Main Street with hands-on activities, face painting, and arts and crafts stations. Don’t miss the Taste of Frisco, where local restaurants offer delicious samples of their signature dishes. Live music and a silent auction add to the fun, making it a perfect day out for the whole family.
Breckenridge Oktoberfest (September 13-15, 2024)
Location: Main Street, Breckenridge, CO
Time: Varies by day
While Oktoberfest might seem like an adult-oriented event, Breckenridge does a great job of making it family-friendly. During the day, the event features a Family Fun Zone. The whole family can enjoy the lively atmosphere, delicious German food, and the unique experience of watching traditional Bavarian dancers perform. Don’t forget to check out the parade and the ceremonial keg tapping!
Breck Film Festival (September 19-22, 2024)
Location: Breckenridge, CO

The Breckenridge Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the country and a highlight of the fall season. The festival features a diverse selection of films, from documentaries to feature films, and offers something for every movie lover. In addition to film screenings, the festival includes filmmaker Q&A sessions, workshops, and special events.
